As I sculpt the clay in my hands, all notions of past or future dissipate, leaving behind only the moment of making; I feel aligned.
My work is an ongoing pursuit which keeps me searching for soft curves, clear lines, natural colors and tactile surfaces. I spend my days exploring the countless nuances of a fundamental vessel form and formulating organic surfaces to complement them.
Simplicity, subtlety, strength, timelessness, warmth and sensuality are themes I invariably and passionately work with.
Using a variety of clays ranging from Limoges porcelain to dark and groggy stoneware, I fire my work to 1300 degrees Celsius in the reduction atmosphere of a gas kiln.
